It’s an unfortunate truth that 1 in 9 Americans are living with food insecurity, and do not always know where their next meal is coming from. Feeding America, the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization, makes it their mission to engage our country in the fight to end hunger and feed America’s hungry through a nationwide network of member foodbanks.

It’s important to keep in mind that hunger is not relegated to the unemployed. 36% of client households served by the Feeding America network have one or more adults who are working. Educated people struggle with issues of hunger and food insecurity, too. In fact, the 2010 Hunger Study showed that 23% of respondents had graduated from or had attended a college or technical school of some kind.
