When starting out on your gluten free journey, check to see what you already have in your fridge or pantry. Here is a list of gluten free foods that you may already have around, or that you can stock up on:

Meat & poultry (choose pasture-raised and grass-fed whenever possible)
Dairy (choose pasture-raised and grass-fed whenever possible)

Beans, legumes, and nuts (soaking beans can help aid in digestion, especially if you already have a sensitive system)
Certain grains, such as: Brown rice, Millet, Buckwheat groats (also known as kasha), Gluten-free oats*, Corn.
Other starches or seeds, such as: Potato, Cassava, Tapioca, Arrowroot, Amaranth, Yucca, Teff, Sorghum, Quinoa or Flax 

*It is important to remember that food labels can be misleading, so look for a label that says “gluten-free” and double-check the ingredients list. Also, packaged food that says “wheat-free” on the label may still contain gluten.
